I know you source a lot of your inspiration from photographs ( good on you for that, btw), but have you looked into various art books for games and movies? There are some amazingly talented artists out there, might be a good investement to look into the various books Weta studios have put out, for instance.

This image in particular reminded me of the concept art Bethesda studios did for Skyrim, with the muted green flowing terrain and high contrast elements of detail. I picked up the art book for it, and many other games. It's amazing the amount of work that goes into those productions.

Great job, once again! I'm glad I (re)discovered your art.

I have a major love of video game art books! I just wish I could afford them all, haha! I have quite a few of Massive Black's books, Digital Art Masters books, plus my favourite - Raising the Bar, the concept art book for Half Life 2. I also have the book that came with the special edition of The Elder Scrolls Online, and the concept art in there is so amazing and inspiring!
If I had the money, I'd definitely have a larger collection. Every time I go to the nerdy bookstore in town, the art books are my first stop! :P

I wish I had a nerdy bookstore. ;__;

I bought most of my art books from a book peddler at one of my training facilities when I was in the airforce. Now it's such a pain to actually find art books. If you go into a regular book store like Barns and Nobles and ask for 'art books', everyone just looks at you funny. I actually used 'Raising the Bar' as an example for them to search for, to see if they have similar books. They're mostly helpless at those stores though.

I guess the best bet to find those would be on on-line retailers. :v

Something about the shadows on the left side is really comforting. Excellent job!

I love this.
When you started digital paintings, did you use references at the start to help with atmosphere/placement/etc, before you began painting from your thoughts?

Sometimes I use references, sometimes I don't. For this one I looked at a few pictures of hills in Iceland, and kind of took my ideas from there. :)
